Hiking and Healing: A Journey into God’s Creation
Join us for Hiking and Healing—a spirit-renewing walk through the living cathedral of God’s creation. On September 27, 2025, we hike around the still waters of Lake Merritt. Starting and ending at the Cathedral of Christ the Light, our steps are guided in prayer, fellowship, and healing.
This is more than a hike. It’s a pilgrimage of the heart—3.2 miles around the lake —toward the quiet presence of God found in the water, the hillsides, and shared silence. We’ll walk together around the lake, pray, reflect, and simply be with the One who made us.

Why We Hike
We walk to draw nearer to Christ through His creation. We offer gratitude, surrender, and trust in every step. Healing comes not only through the beauty around us but through the love we share.
As St. Mother Teresa reminds us, true healing happens when we console Jesus in one another—responding not with indifference, but with compassion. “We should respond to the thirst in others not with indifference, but with a gentle smile that says: I delight that you exist, and I too understand the pain of the thirst.”
